We are using Magento 1.4.1.1.
We are going to start offering “online home parties” through our Magento shopping cart where someone will sign up to “host” a party. They will invite their friends to the online party which will last for two weeks or a timeframe chosen by us. The “host” will give their friends a code to use upon checkout. (or I guess they could give their friends a simple url to use such as www.website.com/hostname). When their friend purchases a product and uses the given code (or URL)….the “host” will get credit for that sale.
We will then give the “host” credit for merchandise sold through their code or URL. We need to be able to keep track of the sales.
I would also like for the “host” to be able to login to an account to see how much they have sold so far.
We could purchase something like Post Affiliate Pro or iDevAffiliate….but is that too much? I am not sure we need something that details with that many features. Or do you recommend we just use one of those affiliate programs??
