We need to develop a English Vocabulary Building website.
This project was previously posted and thank you for those who bid and sent emails. Due to some requirements changes, we’d like to post it again as featured project to show we are serious about this project.
We highly value quality, function, design and the ability to deliver this project on time. Any suggestions or input will be warmly welcomed. We’d like to work with developers with genuine integrity and experience, and we’ll do the best from our part to make the whole process smooth and easy. The winning bidder will be seriously considered for future upgrade of this website and programing for the stand alone software version of this site.
Please see the detailed requirements as following. We can not rule out minor changes or additions to these at this stage. But we believe they are 90% confirmed.
Vocabulary Building Website Requirements:(Please see attached Word2007 version of the list for easy reading)
1. Admin function:
a. Administrator:
i. Manage users
ii. Manage vocabulary lists(pre defined or custom lists)
iii. Manage various discount/promo/bonus etc.
iv. Manage affiliate
b. User:
i. Parent/Child Account, parents able to track progress
ii. Manage own account;
iii. Manage own custom vocabulary lists
iv. Manage own study level/progress.
v. Import /export custom vocabulary from text/excel or other common file format.
vi. Share, tweet the website

2. Vocabulary building/learning:
a. Word discover: definition, pronunciation(UK/US), example sentences, related words, synonym, antonym, pictures etc. Ability to search additional definition, example sentences, Wikipedia and WikiDictionary, Etymology etc.
b. Flash cards: display words/definition, pronunciation, synonym, antonym etc. study
c. Other activities to help memorize vocabulary, to be advised.
d. Review reminder and scheduling based on memory/forgetting curve(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forgetting_curve)
3. Vocabulary tests/exams
a. Word <->Definition two way tests
b. Synonym tests
c. Antonym tests
d. Word recall
e. Spelling test
4. Words games/fun exercises
a. 5 mini flash games, to be advised.
5. Scoring/bonus
a. Scoring system based on study activity – how many words studied, correct, error, etc.
b. Weekly, monthly score tally
c. Allow the user to get avatar etc based on score, like Mathelatics.com
d. Gold, silver or bronze awards based on score.
e. Ability to reward top users with physical products. – like a t-shirt or stationary or other products and can be managed from admin area.
6. Stats/Reports
a. Record date, time, what the user studied, correct rate, error rate, what the user has mastered, what needed to put emphasize on, details TBA.
b. Generate reports based on tracked data.
c. Email parents about the child’s progress.
d. Use recorded data to generate some common charts to show study activity.
7. Billing/Promo
a. Flexible payment system- various promo/discount, half yearly/annually payment discounts, free trial etc.
b. Billing gateway integration – eWay, Paypal…etc.
8. Affiliate management
a. Affiliate account, affiliate able to login in the see their commission(Like ClickBank)

c. Generate basic affiliate reports

a. SEO optimized
b. Clean, simple attractive design/interface, attractive to 10-30years old user group
