WordPress Auction Site

Please find the Web design attached with this posting.

You will need to create a template for the wordpress site. We will provide you with the psds. For the time being we have attached .jpgs so you can see how pages will look like.

Important specification:

– table-less
– All Divs should be flexible/stretchable vertically where necessary to allow for font resizing and editing
– Validated –> XHTML
– Be compatible with all commonly used browsers (Firefox, IE, Safari, Opera)
– PNG fix for IE
– Be able to edit theme through wordpress interface
– Top menu should allow us to add more pages through wordpress CMS without having to edit header or footer files.
– Must be UTF-8
– Left hand sidebar must be an editable widget which will be different on all pages including the home page

This website will be used to let our members know what items we have for auction. BUT there will be no ONLINE auction taking place.

The WordPress CMS will perform these functions:

– WP backend will have a place where website admin will have the choice to add the bid/auction item’s with these fields:
Item number
Table number
Description (should allow us to add links too)
This section must be very easy to manage and must not require know how of complicated HTML tagging.
(refer to table-pages.jpg to see how it will be displayed on the website)

– Bid/ Auction items will be added to the mysql database and will be displayed on the website with a checkbox next to each item asking the visitor if they want to add it to their wish list for printing.
(refer to wishlist.jpg)

– Visitor can go through all the items, visit the website and go to any page or section they need and their “print list” will not be forgotten (it will ONLY be deleted if they leave the website) and once they are ready they can print the list.

– Once the visitor is ready they can print the list. The list should be converted to a nicely formatted document (or it can be a pdf too). Please see the attached pdf page number 2 for the look of how the items should be formatted for printing.  The sidebar and header of the website will not be printing.

– Visitor can also save their list but it will require them to create an account with wordpress. And after creating the account the list will be saved in their account.  it MUST NOT get published on the website any where.

– We would like to reuse this website for future auctions. So the backend area will have the functionality to create archives of the past auction items. Archives will also be used to keep track of all the previous items that had been auctioned off in the previous galas.

– Archived items should be easily copied to the new/ active auction items as a lot of times we will be auctioning same items so we do not wish to enter same item every time a new auction is going to take place. For example if a Logitec keyboard was auctioned in Aug. 2010. We should be able to copy this item easily and add it to the auction for Nov.2010.

– Pre-populated Search – Please refer to the table-pages.jpg image. The sidebar on this page will list 8 links.  The links will read “Table 1”, “Table 2” …. “Table 8”.  And when visitor click on these links they will be shown all the items that were added to that specific table.  (NOTE: when auction items are added to the database they will all have a table number so this should be fairly easy for you to program).

IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ THE WHOLE JOB DESCRIPTION BEFORE BIDDING OR CONTACTING ME.
