Did you know that one website was hacked every 5 seconds? You should always protect your investment with a backup but nobody wants to have to manually login, click backup, and let it run every day. With cPanel automatic backups this task is accomplished for you, and securely through a cron job. Also, I have included steps on how to password protect your cron just for the extra protection if you cant keep it in a secure directory such as your home folder.
How it works
Using cpanel automatic backup is simple. Modify the backup.php file to choose your backup options, upload, and then setup a cron job for when you want the backup to run each day.
Features
- Choose from 4 different backup options, no email, with email notification, remote ftp server with email, or remote ftp server with no email notification
- Fully runs through a cron job setup on your hosting account within a secure directory such as the /home/username/ directory
