Captions gives your images (and videos) a caption with a smooth CSS3 effect. It makes use of the HTML5 figure and figcaption elements
Video Preview
The standard video preview seems not to be working. For now you can view the video preview here
Benefits
- It’s your choice with 3 awesome CSS3 effects making 14 different variations. These effects are push, appear and flip. Watch the video preview to see them in action!
- There is a classic black color scheme included but you can customize colors to fit your website’s design
- Includes styling for caption child elements: h1, h2, p and buttons
- The images used in the preview are included and belong to the public domain. Each image is linked to a website where you can download the original one
- No JavaScript ( HTML5 Shiv script is included for Internet Explorer)
- As expected, there is good documentation and examples
Important notes
- The CSS3 appear and push effects work in Safari, Chrome and Firefox 4.0
- The CSS3 flip effect works in Chrome and looks marvelous in Safari
- There is a known issue with Opera 11 on Windows (the caption’s width and height are not displayed correctly). Opera on Mac does not has this issue
Documentation
This is a little preview of the documentation. Doesn’t it look great? It’s completely redesigned with HTML5 and CSS3
