Notre Dame Donations – How Much Has Been Donated So Far?
It has only been a few days since a large fire destroyed much of the world famous Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, but already donations are flooding in from around the world to help pay for repairs to the 850-year-old French landmark. It is thought that upwards of $1 billion has been donated so far from a small number of France’s richest citizens and companies.
One of those donations came from Francois-Henri Pinault, who
is the CEO of Kering. This is a big company that owns some prestigious brands
like Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent. He pledged approximately 100 million euros, which is
around $113 million at current exchange rates. These are eye watering sums of
money, but considering the family is worth in excess of $37 billion, it really
is a drop in the ocean.
This donation was then followed by another donation of 200 million euros ($226
million), which was made by Bernard Arnault. He is the current CEO of LVMH Moët
Hennessy Louis Vuitton. He is better known as being the richest man in Europe,
with an estimated fortune of $90 billion. In fact, he is currently the third
richest person in the world, trailing only Jeff Bezos and Microsoft founder
Bill Gates.
There have been other donations to from French cosmetics giant
L’Oreal, who are owned by the Bettencourt family. They have also donated 200
million euros for the Notre Dame rebuild. Later that day, oil company Total
stated its intention to donate 100 million euros to the rebuilding fund. These donations
alone have resulted in a war chest of 600 million euros.
It is thought that the French public will also be as generous
in their donations. Despite the large sums that are being donated, it is
thought around $8 Billion will be needed to get the project finished.
The French President Emmanual Macron has said that they will
attempt to re-build Notre Dame within 5 years, which is considered by many to
be a little optimistic, but with the level of donations that are flooding in,
who can bet against this from happening? Will more donations be on the way? Tim
Cook from Apple says that he is intending to donate to the fund. There are some
critics who believe many are using this tragedy as a marketing campaign to
improve their image, but the money needs to be raised somehow.
If you would like to donate, you can do so by visiting https://dartagnans.fr/en/projects/notre-dame-de-paris-je-t-aime/campaign.

What is a Class 7 MOT?
MOTs are needed for nearly all vehicles in the UK, but there are different classes for different types of vehicle. For example, for a normal family car that can carry up to a maximum of eight passengers, a Class 4 MOT is required. This is by far the most common type of MOT that is carried out. But, what vehicles fall under the Class 7 MOT? Let’s take a look at this in a little more detail, with help from Class 7 MOT Reading.
A Class 7 MOT is
usually needed for vehicles that weight between 3000 and 3500 kilograms. Usually,
this weight range includes your commercial vans, such as the Ford Transit,
Renault Traffic and the Mercedes Sprinter.
If you are not 100%
sure of the weight of your vehicle, fear not, because the weight of your
vehicle will likely be detailed in your vehicle handbook. If you don’t have
this handbook to hand, a quick search online will likely result in you being
able to find your weight. But, make sure the information provided is accurate,
as the weights of vehicles vary depending on the year they were made, as well
as things such as the make, model and VIN of the vehicle. This will allow you
to determine what class of MOT that your vehicle needs.
Another way to
check is by looking at your vehicle’s ministry plate. Make sure you do not use
the manufacturer’s plate.
Are There Vehicles That Don’t Need an MOT?
Surprisingly
enough, there are certain types of vehicle that don’t need an MOT. Of course, vehicles
that are under 3 years of age do not require an MOT, which is common knowledge,
but there are others, such as:
- Cars
and motorcycles that were manufactured before the 1st of January 1960 - Motorized
tractors - Electric
goods vehicles - Private
hire vehicles or, what are known as “hackney carriages”, which are usually taxed
by local authorities - Vehicles
that are used by the police, but only if they are maintained in an authorised
workshop.
There is a maximum fee associated with a Class 7 MOT, which
is currently £58.60. The maximum fee a garage can charge for a Class 4 MOT is
£54.85. These fees are regularly reviewed, so keep an eye on the maximum charge,
so you are not overcharged.
If you are in need of a Class 7 MOT for your van, we would
recommend that you contact Fix My Van
Reading who provide excellent MOTs.

Tips for Choosing the Right Moving Company
We all know that moving home can be a stressful experience.
This is why hiring the right moving company is key to minimizing anything going
wrong during your big move. With this in mind, we thought we would outline some
tips when selecting a moving company to carry out your move.
Make sure you get references
We would recommend that you contact family and friends for any
references. This helps narrow down the search to companies that were cost
effective and performed well for their moves. If your close circle of friends
and family don’t have any references, a good list of moving companies can be found on the American
Moving and Storage Association website.
Try and avoid packing costs
We would recommend that you try and avoid packing costs by
packing your belongings away yourself. It can get quite expensive if you pay
the moving company to pack your items, as they will charge you for boxes and
other packing materials, as well as time and labor.
For some, packing costs will may be essential if you don’t
have the ability or time to pack yourself. If you are in this situation, make
sure you ask about the experience of the packers. You want to ensure that your
personal belongings get to your new property safely and without any breakages.
Look out for extra fees
Sometimes extra fees can be charged if for example you live
in a two-story house at the moment, or are looking to move into one. These fees
can get out of control if you are moving from or into an apartment on the 11th
floor of a large apartment block for example. Under these circumstances, you
will be charged by the moving company to go up stairs and elevators. This is
why it is key to ensure you ask your mover about any additional fees. It could
be an expensive mistake otherwise.
Don’t pay a big deposit
Reputable and trustworthy movers won’t demand a big cash deposit before carrying out a move. Make sure that you only pay upon delivery of the service you have requested. If you have to pay in advance of your moving date, you will have little to no control over the move from then onwards. These are just some of the tips that you should follow when choosing a moving company. You may wish to check out the services offered by ABC Movers – https://abcmovers.com/services.php

From the
Middle Ages is known that people had cabinets that consisted of real and often
elaborately crafted wood. These cabinets were designed for clothing, in the
living room and in the kitchen you knew at that time no cabinets. Over time,
however, people realized that it was convenient if their belongings could not
be stored on the floor or on shelves behind curtains, but in a closet that had
doors and braces or a clothes rail. The tavern gradually moved into all rooms
of the house. Around the 17th century, the establishment of a house as we know
it today prevailed.
The
history of the making of furniture is also a history of art. As can be observed
in the architecture, furniture of the past, but also current furniture can be
assigned to certain styles. However, one can not apply the modern or trendy
style in architecture to the furniture, because these always develop in
comparison with the architecture with a time delay of sometimes a decade and
more.
The history of the creation of the furniture can be studied by interested lovers in books and museums and, if the means are sufficient, they can be put into his house or apartment in the form of antiques.

What is Property Guardianship and How Does it Work?
In recent
times, property guardianship has risen in popularity. The premise behind this
concept is to take care of a property as a live-in tenant for reduced rent.
This is a win-win situation for both parties because the property would
otherwise remain unoccupied. However, instead of leaving the property empty,
the owner deems it fit to find a “guardian” at a lower cost.
Another
word used for these individuals would be “legal squatters,” and it is
often a great way to find a place to live. To make sure this is official, the
guardian is provided with appropriate licencing for access to the property.
They will also receive a reduced amount to rent that part of the property.
While the owner gets the opportunity to pocket a monthly income while making
sure illegal squatters don’t try living in the property because its unoccupied.
Due to the
advantages, numerous property guardians are popping up around the UK. Since the
rent is rising in many parts of the UK, it has become easier for people to
become property guardians. They save money and can still live in a nice place.
According to studies, the average first home buyer will need to make at least
64,000 pounds annually to afford accommodations. This has a lot to do with the
initial deposit and monthly living costs of a property. It’s important to note
these numbers will continue to rise as time goes on. As of right now, the cost
of a property is somewhere around 200,000 pounds. Along with buying a property,
renting one at full price is also incredibly expensive in the UK.
Rent can
come out to be approximately 750 pounds and it only goes higher in desirable
cities such as London where it can reach up to 1500 pounds per month. This
illustrates how important it has become to find alternatives as becoming a
homeowner is near impossible due to the living costs.
Property
guardians are rising in number because it’s affordable. The rent is cut in half
and it becomes much easier to find a good place to live in while holding this
status. There are so many properties that need property guardians because they
are going to be torn down after a few months or fully renovated.
In some
examples, property guardians have been asked to live in places such as offices,
churches, pubs, hotels, and even schools depending on the area. Anyone that is
looking to sign up to be a property guardian needs to go through an agency so
they can find a legitimate option. Many agencies are in this line of work and
can be found with a simple search online.
What Does it Take To Become a Property Guardian?
To become a
property guardian, it is going to depend on the agency you’re signing up with,
I have personally used www.vps-guardians.co.uk and they have been great. The average agency
will want someone employed and doesn’t have pets or children under their name.
This ensures the guardian is able to move around and is versatile as a
candidate. It is also highly recommended to not smoke on a regular basis
because it is looked down upon by property owners. Students are also
disregarded due to their situation of being away from the property and not
having appropriate income. It is best to sit down and look at all of your
options before finding a good fit.
In general,
40% of property guardians fit somewhere between 36-65 years of age. While 50%
are aged between 26-45. For the remaining 10%, they tend to be somewhere
between 18-35. It is also important to note many property guardians haven’t
advanced professionally to take the next step as potential homeowners. This is
why getting into a situation such as this appeals to them moving forward. They
like putting their funds aside while saving money on rent.
Pros of Property Guardianship
A property
guardian doesn’t pay the same rent as a traditional tenant ensuring a lot of
money is saved on a monthly basis. There are many examples where the rent is
cut in half for property guardians. These are the kind of savings people are
able to get behind as they put money away for other investments. In fact, a lot
of people use this as a launching pad for a down payment on their first home
later on.
This is
also a great way to stay in expensive areas that would otherwise be impossible
to access. The high rent would push people away that want to live there.
However, a property guardian doesn’t have to fret about this even if they are
finding it hard to save enough money on a monthly basis.
Cons of Property Guardianship
You are not
going to be protected as a traditional tenant would be as that is the cost of
paying half the rate. You are not signing an agreement and the property can be
taken away at any time when you’re asked to leave. They generally will not
offer a long-winded notice and will simply ask you to move out. However,
tenants are given proper notice before being asked to leave.
This
article on property guardianship should help those looking to learn the ins and
outs for this concept and what it has to offer as an arrangement. For those
thinking about doing this, continue to look into the pros and cons before
determining what’s best-suited to your situation.

Will We See the Introduction of Flying Cars by 2025?
Flying cars have been in our science fiction movies during the last century and it could soon be a reality. Many companies such as Uber, Airbus, Bell helicopter, and Joby are currently working on these flying cars, and they are expecting to fly their first aircrafts in the year 2022. While some progress is being made with regulators, it could be the year 2025 before we see a commercial service launched in selected cities, according to AerospaceExport and their analysis of the eVTOL projects.
We probably won’t see these type of aircrafts being used as a main method of transport in 2025, and probably not even in the next decade after as well. But, as technology develops, we could see flying cars in our skies by around 2040. Flying taxis will likely be used in combination with autonomous ground vehicles for hub to hub (60 km trip) transportation needs. Autonomous ground vehicles will be used for the “last miles”, which would be the transport need from the hub to the final destination of the user. Flying taxis would be probably used first to provide high speed transportation to major airports from cities centers.
To enable such new transportation solutions, current aircraft manufacturers have been working heavily on electric and hybrid electric technologies. This research is proceeding at an astounding pace, and there has been great strides taken even in the last 2 years. This will allow significant noise reduction, lower operating and aircrafts costs, compared with current helicopters.
Where are we on Development?
There have been several first prototypes being tested from different eVTOL manufacturer in different countries. It is interesting to highlight that Australia and New Zealand have attracted several projects thanks to their regulatory agencies who have welcomed flight tests in their airspace. The USA also has taken a central role in this technology development, with many start ups ploughing significant amounts of money in to develop the technology. Uber seems to be one of the major companies in the auto industry at the moment who seem to be taking a keen interest in flying cars, so it is thought they will be a major player in future.
Where do you think the technology will lead us? Do you think we will see flying cars in our skies by 2025? Or are you one of the naysayers who believe that this technology will never take off? Let us know what you think!

Contemporary Art Galleries- Everything You Need to Know
Contemporary art galleries otherwise known
as commercial galleries are spaces where you get art for sale. In these
galleries, different artists’ works are displayed. Regular exhibitions are also
held in a bid to expose the artist’s work.
Even though galleries come in many forms,
they all have one thing in common – presenting and selling art. Art galleries
are beneficial to artists, art lovers, and collectors among other art buyers.
Artists get a place where they can display their art to a wider audience. The
spaces also help many artists maintain their art career through regular sale of
displayed artworks.
Thanks to contemporary galleries, artists
do not have to market their products. This is not to mean that artists cannot
source for market for their products. Some artists are actually very good
marketers, but marketing and simultaneously creating artworks can be a lot of
work, and this may affect the quality of their art over time. Art lovers also
get a space under one roof where they can get a variety of art pieces made by
different artists. Since most, if not all, art galleries have different artists
in their roster, art lovers get to see what these artists have to offer and
also purchase the pieces they want from the gallery.
Art galleries also act as one-stop shops
for architects, interior designers, and other professionals who need art but
have no time to go to individual studios looking for a single artist’s work.
Execute Project art gallery is an initiative that aims to deliver all the above
and so much more. The gallery works to help artists grow their career and
benefit from their artwork. Founded in early 2019, this gallery held its first
exhibition in March the same year.
The solo exhibition dubbed Tonality by Nishiki Sugawara-Beda presented 5 paintings and sculpture installations. Just like with this maiden exhibition, Execute Project wants to expose more artists to the world in future. The Execute Project art Gallery aims to display art both online and through different presentations. The online platform makes it easy for collectors and the general public to see what is on offer at the click of a button.
Multiple online channels including social
media are used in a bid to show the art to a wider audience. Presentation also
helps as buyers can see and purchase whatever art piece they like. Given that
this is a general commercial art gallery, it is open to the public, and
visitors do not pay an admission fee. Just like any other for-profit art
gallery, the Execute Project Art Gallery encourages artists and critics to join
the openings. This way, the artists get the networks they need to grow in all
areas in their careers.
In recent times, you will find commercial
art galleries in city centers among other urban settings. The galleries are usually
two or more in number within the same location.
In its little way, the gallery wants to
provide that un-known artist with a platform where the world can see their
talent.
The Execute Project Art Gallery – Final Thoughts
The Execute Project art gallery works just
like any other commercial gallery. The space is designed with both artists and
the public in mind and its primary purpose is to showcase the works of
different artists. The artists can
concentrate on their art since they have a platform where they can showcase
their work to the world, while the public get to experience and connect with
current culture. This art gallery is designed to work pretty much like a social
network for all people who have an interest in art. The Execute Project art gallery
also doubles up as a production space for Executive Magazine. Just like the
gallery, this magazine aims to promote both emerging and mid-level career
artists. It is hard to classify the type of space the Executive Project art
gallery is, but its work and dedication in promoting new and mid- level talent
speaks for itself.

Respawn Halted Development of Another Game to Make Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order
EA is known for pushing developers around and it often has a major role when
it comes to deciding stuff in the development process.
The company has got a lot of heat in recent years for doing this and it
seems that EA has done the same yet again with Respawn. It turns out that
Respawn was actually working on another game when EA asked the developer to
work on Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order instead, as reported by Power Up Gaming.
The game that Respawn was rumored to be working on is Titanfall 3. I know
that the developer announced that Titanfall 3 would not be coming out any time
soon but that could be due to Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order. The game
Director, Stig Asmussen talked about the matter and the following is what he
had to say in this regard:
“And unanimously, my team hands down, everybody
was interested in working on a Star Wars, even though we were really interested
in the other game that we were working on, we saw this as an opportunity. It’s
like, ‘Hey, when are you ever going to get a chance to work on a Star Wars
game.’”
We know that people have been waiting for Titanfall 3 and I would like
to play the game as well. We hope that development on Titanfall 3
continues after Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order is released. Indeed, one can
only hope at this point. EA might hand Respawn another game to work on. We will
never know until the time comes. Asmussen went on to mention the
following:
“It was several months before we even met with
Lucasfilm. I’m assuming that you guys knew that we were signed on, but it was
