As Apple counts-down to the 10 billionth app download, they have revealed the all-time top applications for both iPhone and iPad. The top applications are broken into four categories: Top Paid iPhone Apps, Top Free iPhone Apps, Top Paid iPad Apps, Top Free iPad Apps.

In the list of Top 10 Paid iPhone Apps, 9 are games. Paper Toss was the only one game to make it to the Top 10 Free iPhone Apps list.

On the contrary, the iPad games didn’t have much importance. Also, the Top 10 Free iPad Apps list wasn’t much different from the iPhone.

Facebook was the most downloaded application on the iPhone. But, it was absent from the iPad list because there is no official Facebook application for the iPad. If there was, it would have undoubtedly been the most downloaded application on the iPad too.

How Best Buy and ATT plan to combat the Verizon iPhone

We just received a few very interesting tidbits in our tips box this evening as it pertains to the Verizon iPhone and how Best Buy is training their employees to encourage customers to stay with AT&T.

As you can see in the document above, which we’ve confirmed is straight out of a Best Buy playbook, you can see that Big Blue is looking to talk down the Verizon model. What we haven’t confirmed is the reason why–is Best Buy not going to be selling the Verizon iPhone at launch? If not, it would make sense that they’d wanna downplay the phone that they aren’t selling so that they can continue moving phones that they actually stock.

Specifically mentioned is the fact that Verizon spent all of CES touting their 4G network, while the iPhone is a 3G device that will “still be puttering at EVDO speeds.” Kind of odd, since the AT&T phone does the same (although AT&T’s GSM is faster than Verizon’s CDMA.)

We’ve got one more image out of Best Buy’s playbook after the jump. Oh, and it looks like AT&T is gonna try and entice customer to stay by changing up the costs of their text messaging plans.

You can downgrade iOS 4.3 to iOS 4.2.1 / 4.1 on iPhone 4, 3GS and iPod Touch 4G, 3G and iPad. Follow the steps below to downgrade iOS 4.3 to 4.2.1/4.1 firmware on iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.

How to Downgrade iOS 4.3 to iOS 4.2.1, iOS 4.1

Download your desired firmware for which you’ve SHSH blobs saved and want to downgrade to:
Download iOS 4.2.1
Download iOS 4.1
Method 1: Using TinyUmbrella
Download TinyUmbrella
If you’ve SHSH blobs saved on Saurik’s server via Cydia, download them into your computer first. To do that:
Connect your device, Fire up the TinyUmbrella and Check mark the Advanced Options.
Select your device, firmware (the one for which you’ve SHSH saved at Cydia; 4.2.1, 4.1 or older) and Cydia as Location.
Hit the save My SHSH button. that’s it.
Step 1 – DFU Mode
Put your iPhone into DFU Mode (How to: enter DFU Mode)
Step 2 – Start TSS Server
Run the TinyUmbrella
Hit the Display SHSH button to confirm that downloaded SHSH blobs has been cached by TinyUmbrella for iOS 4.2.1, 4.1 or older. (If you already have them in your PC, drag and drop the SHSH blobs in the TinyUmbrella window then hit the display SHSH blobs button to confirm).
Now hit the Start TSS Server button.
Step 3 – Restoring The Firmware
Open the iTunes.
Hold down the Shift (Windows)/Alt (Mac) key and hit the Restore button.
Select the downloaded firmware (iOS 4.2.1, iOS 4.1 or older) and let the restore process complete.
iTunes should bring up the error 1015, 1013 or 1011 message. Don’t worry, it’s normal. You’ve successfully downgraded your iPhone/iPod Touch firmware.

Step 4 – Getting Out Of Recovery
Now in order to get out of recovery mode, hit the “Kick Device Out of Recovery” button on TinyUmbrella right below the Start TSS Server button or you can also use RecBoot. That’s it!

iPad 2 Features Dual-Core Graphics for Retina Display, Report Says

As the anticipated announcement of an iPad refresh draws nearer, the tidbits of insider information are seeping out at faster rates.

Among the latest: a report that the next generation of the Apple iPad features a high-resolution Retina display, powered by a dual-core graphics chip. The high-resolution screen and faster GPU would allows the iPad 2 to play 1080p HD video, according to an AppleInsider report citing sources familiar with the matters.

The new graphics chip inside the yet-unannounced iPad 2 is said to pack four times the processing capability of the A4 chips in current iPads, iPhone 4, and Apple TV. The video chip would run alongside a multiple-core ARM Cortex A9 general-purpose processor inside the tablet. It is also possible Apple would extend the new graphics and processing chips to its entire line of iOS products, including the next-generation iPhone, iPod Touch, and Apple TV.

Besides the latest speculation on the processing power of the iPad 2, the next-generation tablet is rumored to also include dual cameras (one on the back with flash and one on the front for FaceTime), as well as a slimmer design and a larger speaker. Leaked photos allegedly depicting the display of the iPad 2 indicate that the tablet will also feature a high-resolution screen, exactly double the pixels of the current iPad (reaching 1536 by 800), in order to preserve compatibility with current apps.

Another hot iPad 2 rumor is that the tablet will feature a triple-mode wireless chip, which would allow it to run on either GSM + UMTS or CDMA networks, thanks to a Qualcomm chipset. This is unlike the current iPhone 4, which runs either on Verizon or AT&T, as they two different hardware models. This triple-mode chip could also make its way on the next version of the iPhone, expected this summer.

Consumer Reports cautious on Verizon iPhone 4

Apple just can’t catch a break from Consumer Reports; the buyers advice magazine still won’t recommend the original iPhone 4 because of the antenna issue, and is now advising would-be Verizon iPhone 4 buyers to consider holding off lest they be stuck with a “short-lived” device. According to CR, the iPhone 4 is now starting to “show its age” and will soon be replaced by a new model mid-year.

The nonprofit also mentions the shortcoming of CDMA devices to hold simultaneous data and voice sessions, while casting doubt onto whether the antenna issue has, indeed, been addressed or not. On the flip side, Verizon’s network is described as “among the most satisfying” and the mobile hotspot functionality gets a nod, but “the less iPhone-addicted consumer” may want to wait until the fifth-gen device is unveiled before signing up to a new agreement.
