The Panzerkampfwagen I, also known as SdKfz 101 (the special purpose vehicle 101) was the first tank, mass produced in Germany during the 30es.
It was a light tank, used primary for training but due to circumstances, it was thrown into the combat,first in Spanish civil war and later on in Poland and France.
Its main drawback was light armour and weak main armament, but never the less, these early tanks were crucial in development of Blitzkrieg tactics and usage of tanks in combat.
