We have created both an Internet Explorer BHO Extension and a Firefox extension.
The purpose of this project is to develop Javascript code that will detect the presence of our browser extension on the client machine. If our extension is found, no further action necessary. If our extension is NOT found, build the code to replicate the actions taken by this link: http://www.makeitlive.tv/player/player.php?chname=backit&h=350&w=468
Basically, you would need to develop code to display the message “You need the current version of the plugin to view this channel”. Additionally, the code would need to launch our custom install code to install our extension. (link for install code to be provided once the project is awarded).
If you do not have STRONG JavaScript skills, *or* you are not familiar with FF extensions and IE BHO C++ extensions, then you you should not bid on this project. This is going to be a challenge – 4 developers have tried, 4 developers have failed.
We are anxious to get this coding complete, so if you have the skills and knowledge to complete this project, let’s get it done ASAP!!!
