Earlier this month I mentioned a full featured component with a nice interface for visually editing html which among other features allows you to easily include images from the photo roll.
Here’s a nice open source component if you’re looking to provide users with a text entry interface with image selection called RRMessageController from Remi Robert.
RRMessageController provides a view for message entry with an integrated photo picker, and you can remove images from the message if unwanted.
