I have been contracted to rebuild a website. I will be handling all of the design. CSS/layout/graphics, etc. I need someone to build a back-end. Maybe wordpress. Not sure if it is the best option or not. I am open to suggestions if you know of another CMS that can meet the requirements.
The existing site is built with tables and done with FrontPage so all of the content will need to be rebuilt using xhtml and valid markup an added to the CMS no matter what we use.
1.) All features as they are on the existing site. With the ability for the admins to easily add/edit content, videos, images, etc.
2.) Event Calendar.
3.) Password protected member area for special news/announcements/forum. Ability for admin to add/edit/delete members.
3a.) A section for members to contact local politicians with pre-written letters (and the ability for admins add more). Users should have the ability to change the letter if they want before sending.
4.) The fun one… All exisitng content on the site must be converted over to the new system. Bunch of newsletters and news announcements made into posts and dated when they were published.
I want you to provide me a semantic, valid structure that I can incorporate my design around.
