WordPress Adsense Plugin

WordPress Adsense Plugin

The most important thing I want from this plugin is to make the interface as simple as possible. Most plugins I see are a bit cumbersome when it comes to adding the Adsense blocks. Here are my requirements when it comes to the adding of Adsense blocks to WordPress posts and pages..

1. Ideally, I would like the interface to be a graphical representation of the WordPress theme. In other words in the plugin’s settings area, you click on a button that says something like “Add Adsense”. This then opens up a graphical representation of your current theme (sidebar left, right or both). On this page you can click on various areas of the graphic (top of the post, middle of the post, bottom of the post, sidebar etc..) which opens up a new window. In this new window you are presented with all the possible Adsense blocks that can fit in this area you clicked. When you then choose an Adsense block this then links to your Adsense account and you are taken directly to the set up for this particular Adsense block (or it sets it up automatically for you)..
2. In the settings for each Adsense block a number of check box options should be presented..
a) Global (placed on every page, post, home page etc..)
b) Posts (placed on just posts)
c) Pages (placed on just pages)
d) Exclude (If you check this box you are presented with a list of current posts, pages etc and you can select the ones you don’t want it to appear on.)

2. I also want the ability to rotate various adsense blocks in each position and stats to be displayed for each individual block in your admin area. Stats like impressions, clicks and CTR etc.. If possible this could be linked to Adsense channels (1 channel per Adsense block).

Optional stuff..

1. Something like WhoSeesAds http://planetozh.com/blog/my-projects/wordpress-plugin-who-sees-ads-control-adsense-display/ functionality of configuring who gets to see the ads and who doesn’t. (A lite version anyway).
2. The setup of each Adsense block can all be done within the WordPress enviroment.

I currently use Max Banner ads because of its rotation of ads and the stats. It also has a reasonably simple interface.
