Library Allowing You To Easily Change Your Apps Look In The iOS App Switcher

With iOS 7  Apple introduced the iOS app switcher,  providing a preview view for running applications.  Unfortunately these previews are often not very informative, and even though an app could be working in the background they typically only show the last on-screen image seen by the user.

Here’s an example along with a library from Vinh Phuc Dinh demonstrating how one can place a more informative preview within the app switcher.

The example places a nice “card view” displaying information that the user will likely want to see, but not requiring the user to switch to the app , and the library makes it easy to select a view and turn it into the view seen within the app switcher.

This doesn’t completely solve the issue of a preview not being up to the moment with background apps (as the preview in the app switcher only updates about every 15 minutes), but it does make it easy to place a more informative preview in the app switcher.

Here’s an image from the read me showing the in app view, and app switcher view in the readme:

A nice example and library for changing your app’s preview in the app switcher.
