Apple continues their shopping spree with the acquisition of SnappyLabs.
SnappyLabs previously sold their app SnappyCam on the App Store, the app allowed iPhone users to take high-resolution images rapidly with the camera. The company was founded by John Papandriopoulos.
In normal Apple manner the company declined to comment on the acquisition while still confirming it by releasing the following statement to Re/code:
“Apple buys smaller technology companies from time to time, and we generally do not discuss our purpose or plans.”
Details about the price, as well as the exact date of the purchase still remain unknown, however it was only very recently that the SnappyCam app was pulled from the App Store, which makes us guess the purchase is relatively recent.
