Local Event Ticket Exchange We

Designing and creating a local ticket exchange where people who have tickets can list them on our exchange and buyers can shop for those seats.

A seller would register and list their inventory; a credit card would need to be authorized if there were a problem or cancelled show. Some sellers may like to upload their inventory from a spreadsheet in a csv file.

A buyer experience usually starts using the search function of the site to pull up the event, venue, date, etc. So a strong search engine or filter is required. Many sites now use a geo/ip to identify where the buyers are and reveal content related to their geographic area. Buyers can purchase tickets using a graphical interactive seating diagram.
They can use a credit card to be processed from a payment gateway like authorize.net or paypal.

Since the sites are marketed through search engines a tracking system needs to be applied. A system where discount or promo codes at check out is also needed.

There would be a commission taken from the seller and a service fee added to the buyer.

There would need to be an admin site to adjust events/sellers/etc…
There would need to be a way to scale the system to add new venues, seating maps, events, etc…
The buyers and sellers would be able to log into their accounts and monitor sales, etc..
Some kind of shipment tracking system that interfaces with FedEx api should be included, so buyers can track their package and get email updates as to the shipping status.
Ideally there would be an affiliate system built in so others can add the site to their website and earn commissions on sales.

Here are some examples of other sites:

Ticketfeeder.com
Their home page has some kind of geo / ip detection that displays events in your local area.

A blue dot on the seat map corresponds to a section in the list of tickets for sale.
They also have a filter by price.

Barrystickets.com
Similar, geo / ip targeting on home page
Interactive seat charts on some events:

SELLING TICKETS:
Basically the selling end allows users to list tickets they have for sale
The seller must register and provide a valid credit card so if the show is cancelled or there is a problem with the ticket, the exchange can charge the credit card.
Most sell sites make you choose from a list of events/venues/dates so the user must pick something that is already in the system. We would need to be able to add events or venues that are not yet in the system.

stubhub.com is the leader in this field.
This is how you enter details about tickets you have to sell:

Interactive Seating Charts
New feature on many sites now have interactive seating charts
But they also have to default to a static map if they don’t have interactive yet

Most of these sites utilize the same data base of tickets that are supplied through a feed and then mapped out to seating charges. The tickets are listed at a wholesale price and marked up by the web plug-in and processed through the point of sale system. You should also be able to build a site using a web plug-in from other ticket exchanges to display inventory.

Heavy experience with ecommerce platform development and relational data base required.
Javascript, perl, php and MySQL.
We would like you to set up a system where local events are initially installed, but you can provide us with the tools where we can easily add other events and venues. Please explain how this can be accomplished.

Please provide examples of your past development, pricing and time frame. Please be specific as to what is included in your price and what is not.
