Php Zend Atmail Customization

Hi,

I need several major additions/customizations written for this existing webmail product at http://www.atmail.com.

You will get access to 100% of their code base. You will be given login to a development server, so that you can interact with the software and do testing. Their software already has a developers framework that you can read about listed here:
http://www.atmail.com/support/index.php/Atmail6/CreatingPlugins
I doubt this developer framework for plugins will work for part 1, yet I thought I would include the link.

This is a 5 part project. I’m hoping to work with the same developer on all 5 parts. Yet, to get this project started, and to make sure that you are a good developer, this project is only for part 1. Therefore, please only bid on the work for part 1. If you do amazing bug free work, then I will also pay you to do the other 4 parts. In addition, I’m sure there will be MUCH more work on this project in the future. I’m hoping to partner with someone that can accomplish all of these features, and can guarantee me they will be available for future development.

Here we go:

Part 1: Add external pop3 login ability to the front login of webmail.

Atmail currently allows users to check remote accounts from their front login via IMAP or IMAP SSL. I need the pop3 and pop3 ssl protocols added. In addition I need the ability for the software to check gmail and live.com/hotmail on their special pop3 ports. The software must be intelligent and figure out what the users external mail server address is. For example (mail.domain.com) We already have existing software code written you can use as an example, and a database with the most popular mail servers settings. You will need to integrate this technology and database into this software.

I spoke with atmail, and they stated to me that the current IMAP solution uses the php/zend IMAP framework for the their solution. They said that Zend already has a framework for pop3 that we can use to integrate our solution best. You will need to use this Zend pop3 framework to complete this project. You need to integrate this new pop3 technology into their product the VERY same way that they integrated IMAP. Therefore, all calls to external databases, the saving of client data, etc… must be replicated. There code seems to be very tight, and by using their already existing solution with IMAP as an example, I don’t believe this will be too difficult.

Here is a demo of their platform.

Also. All changes that you make to their code must be tracked. I will setup a CVS server, and you will need to let me know your methods of making sure all code changes are documented. This will allow YOU to re-integrate our custom changes easily when we upgrade atmail when they release new versions.

Part 2: Customize a forgotten password routine (we have our own system that will need to be integrated)
Part 3: Integrate file and photo storage (we can possibly use existing solutions for this and customize them)
Part 4: Integrate facebook/twitter (we will use their APIs for this)
Part 5: Integrate a universal chat client similar to gtalk (we can use existing solutions for this)

This is a big project. I need someone that is willing to take on such a big project that will be available to work on this project off and on probably for the next 3-12 months. I need bug free great code written….

Again, please only bid on part 1 of this project. I hope to get you started on this mid next week.

Feel free to message me with any questions.

Regards,

Wyatt
