Today we are showing the Tracker inside DaVinci, and in my opinion, it’s one of the best in the world. It’s fast, accurate, and most people don’t even believe it’ll really work till they jump in. If you have worked with AE’s trqcking system, you’ll see the difference.
In DaVinci, the tracker is mostly used for selecting moving objects to apply a secondary color grade. You can combine it with the qualifier or whatever change you’d like to make on the selected part of the shot. Within the tracking field, you can remove sections you’d like to avoid to be more specific with what it tracks. If an object is moving through the tracking field, you can force DaVinci to reference the path from last seen frame as well as the first frame after the problem to set the optimal estimated path.
When you want to just change one part of the shot, but that part is not an isolated color and there is movement involved, you’ll be thrilled to have this tool.
So let’s check out the Tracker!
