UI Control Allowing You To Place Expanding Image Thumbnail Callouts On A MapKit Map

I’ve mentioned a number of excellent user interface controls for creating custom mapkit annotations such as SMCalloutView which is an open source replica of the private UICalloutView library.

Here’s another excellent annotation control from JP Simard called JPSThumbnailAnnotation.

JPSThumbnailAnnotation allows you to easily create thumbnail annotations using an image, and when the thumbnail is clicked the thumbnail expands into a full sized annotation.  Complete with nice smooth animations.

Here’s an image showing JPSThumbnailAnnotation in action:

You can find JPSThumbnailAnnotation on Github here.

Definitely a very cool library for highlighting landmarks on a map.
