Tutorial: How To Customize Native iOS UI Elements

Recently I mentioned an excellent tutorial on how to build a great looking fully custom iOS control.

Here’s a tutorial from Javi at Invasive code covering how to customize native iOS UI controls in a step by step manner going through how to customize different individual controls..

The tutorial goes through the customization of a number of elements demonstrating how to change colors using UIAppearance, how to overlay custom images covering nav bars, steppers, switches, and more.

You’ll also learn how to make your customizations apply to multiple controls, and how to use UIEdgeInserts so your controls can adapt to different screen sizes.

Here’s an image from the tutorial showing the custom images that you’ll create:

You can find the tutorial along with the images required to create the customizations shown over on the Invasive code blog.
