The genie transition effect that appears when minimizing and maximizing windows in Mac OS X.
Ciechan has created a project called BCGenieEffect containing a UIView category that allows you to add these effects to your iOS views and it looks great especially when used in conjunction with a button.
Here are a couple of images from the readme showing off the effect:
You simply need to define the duration, and the starting or ending rectangle size.
