News: Google Releases New Maps SDK For iOS Devices

There’s been quite a bit of buzz about the release of the Google Maps App for iPhone that has rapidly soared to the top of the download charts.

In addition to the app Google has also announced a new SDK for developers looking for an alternative to Apple maps.

The documentation states:

The new Google Maps SDK for iOS allows users to view and interact with a Google map in your iOS app. With rotation, tilt, 3D buildings and many other features, you can create highly interactive apps for your users. Also, your app can launch the Google Maps for iPhone app using a URL scheme, enabling users to search, get directions and view Street View imagery.
