Drop-In Open Source Library For Creating Wacky Animated UITableViews

Lately there has been a number of highly success apps taking the core UIKit components such as tableviews, and adding customizations to make things more interesting and intuitive for the users.

I’ve mentioned some great libraries for customizing the look and feel of tableviews such as this library for emulating the gesture based tableview interaction in the Clear app, and another for adding information overlays for UITableViews like in the Path app.

Recently I came across a source code example that perhaps takes things a bit too far showing how to create some extremely wacky animated tableviews .

Here’s a video showing the example in action:

The library is ADLivelyTableView from Applidium and can be found on Github here.

You can read the original post about ADLivelyTableView on the Applidium site here.

You might be wondering when you might want to use these wacky animations within an app – well I couldn’t tell you but they certainly add a flavor and the library makes for a good example of how to take a traditional UIKit component and add some flair.
