Tap! Magazine for iPad

Each month, I write the Dev_Zone section of Tap! magazine (@TapMagUK on Twitter), including both a tutorial and a column. The magazine is available in print in various countries, and on Zinio.

As of today, it’s also available as a brand-new iPad app edition, which everyone at the mag is very proud of. You can buy individual issues of Tap! inside the app, and there are also various subscription options. For visually impaired users, the text is resizable, and VoiceOver is supported.

The particularly interesting thing about the app is that it’s made on the iPad too. There’s a custom in-house iPad app we use to author the digital version of the magazine, including the 360° product tours, game preview videos, audio clips and so on. It’s a great example of how much we believe in iOS as a productivity and publishing platform.

I hope you’ll try the app for yourself (iTunes link). It’s a 1.0, and there will no doubt be rough edges, but we’re very excited about it.
