News: Apps Created With The Free Qualcomm Augmented Reality SDK Can Now Been Distributed

A couple of months ago I mentioned the free Qualcomm Augmented Reality SDK (QCAR) beta was released for the iOS platform.

At the time I received some feedback related to the beta agreement which did not allow you to release anything utilizing the SDK.  This has now changed.

The official release version has been announced by Qualcomm and you are now permitted to submit any apps utilizing the SDK to the app store.  Best of all just like the Android version it is completely free to use for development and distribute apps with.

For those that missed the previous  announcement, check out this video:

With all the support, quality of the library you can expect to see a lot of apps made with QCAR on iOS. With all the examples, and community in place this is something you can get started with right away.

You can download and discuss QCAR library on the official website.

If you’re looking for a library to speed up the development of an augmented reality app you will definitely want to check it out.

As the announcement states you will need to download the upgrade, and the SDK is available for the iPad2, iPhone4, iPhone 3GS and 4th generation iPod touch.
