I have SPPC installed in my heavily modified osCommerce store.
After SPPC was installed I noticed an error that appears sometimes when I have one or several products as specials.
The error message does not always appear, I would guess it appears 1 or 2 per every 100 page views.
This is how the error message looks like:
1062 – Duplicate entry ‘487’ for key 1
insert into specials_retail_prices select s.products_id, s.specials_new_products_price, s.status, s.customers_group_id from specials s where s.customers_group_id = ‘0’
[TEP STOP]
The page is blank with the above message.
The item with product ID 487 is listed in specials in admin, but has run out of date, so it’s inactivated.
It doesn’t matter whether the product is activated or inactivated in specials, it still appears from time to time.
If you google:
“1062 – Duplicate entry” “insert into specials_retail_prices select s.products_id”
you will find several osc stores where google have indexed this error. If you check their site its probably ok, if you check the cached page you will se the error.
As far as I know it’s probably apears when two visitors do a query to the table specials_retail_prices in the database at the exactly same time.
I need a fix for this. Let me know if you KNOW that you can fix it.
I posted this project earlier and choose valleysoftware as a programmer.
I thought he came up with a solution, but he didn’t. He promised me support but in the end he never got back to me. So watch out for valleysoftware.
Unfortunately I paid and gave him 10 in reviews before he disappeared.
So here we go again.
