Description
The Anti-Theft Module is a PHP snippet that can be put into the top of any PHP page. The basic idea behind this module is that is allows you to deliver your web design or web development work to a client with the knowledge that, if they refuse to pay, you still have control. This is a last resort, as you will likely burn a bridge if it is used unnecessarily, but it will help guarantee that you get the money that is owed to you. While this may seem a bit crass, it is extremely effective as clients never want their own customers to know they are skipping out on payment for services rendered.
Features Include:
- Check if a given URL exists.
- Redirect to a PayPal page, prompting for payment of services if the URL does not exist.
- If URL does exist, there is no effect on the page content.
Background
I’ve had my fair share of clients who refuse to pay. Be it for personal financial reasons or a lack of satisfaction with the work (work they then push live, weakening their case). While contracts are a useful tool in deterring would-be dine-and-dashers, they don’t always work, and often the price of the work isn’t worth the court fees it would take to get those deadbeats to pay up.
Server Requirements
Supports PHP 5 .x.
Can be tweaked/modified once purchased if you know the PHP language.
