Here’s our problem.
We have I think 99 databases on the server but only
about 7 of them are critical. If those 7 are working
without a hitch, then probably all the others will
work.
One of the databases has about 10 tables that would
need to be verified they are working correctly.
You can’t make a back up of php and the whole system
has 27 GB.
What I’m told is EOL fedor no more package updates so upgrade is mandatory:
* Fedora 7 Moonshine)
* Fedora Core 6 (Zod)
* Fedora Core 5 (Bordeaux)
* Fedora Core 4 (Stentz)
* Fedora Core 3 (Heidelberg)
We are running:
PHP 5.0.4 (apache2handler)
OS Linux getyourproduct.getyour…
MySQL 4.1.20
CPU: p4
Ensim control panel
So apparently we can’t upgrade php from 5.0 to 5.2 without upgrading Fedora which could adversely effect our 99 databases.
So I don’t know how to get my box upgraded to php 5.2 without causing a lot of problems. The problem on upgrading Fedora is that it could cause the databases to NOT work which would totally suck.
Will upgrading to php 5.2 ALSO effect the 99 mysql databases that are running on the OLD 4.1.20 Mysql?
Is there any way to know?
I can’t risk upgrading the server and having everything stop
working!
Is there a way to get php 5.2 running on my box without taking a
risk of jacking everything up?
I realize it’d be better to be on a new cpanel server BUT doing
so could cause many problems with the databases. So my preference
is to upgrade the existing server to php 5.2 and possibly a Fedora
upgrade if you can figure HOW to do it without jepordizing all
the databases.
