Vimeo Customized – Vimeo Video Player, Custom Skin (Video Players)

“Vimeo Customized” is the first Vimeo video player on ActiveDen with a custom skin

“Vimeo Customized” loads in a playlist automatically from your Vimeo account. There are two built-in options for playlist loading. You can load in your own videos or you can load in your “likes” (favorites) list as well. Build custom playlists like the preview example simply by “liking” videos on Vimeo.

This Vimeo video player is perfect for anyone who wants the awesomeness of Vimeo on their website but also wants a great looking skin that can also be changed to fit the look of your site.

“Vimeo customized” can be used to play just one video. When a playlist is loaded that only contains one video, the thumbnails will be automatically hidden.

XML Options include:

Set the player width and height
Choose to autoplay videos
Enter your Vimeo username
Choose which type of playlist you wish to load, options are “videos” (user uploaded videos) or “likes” (user favorites)
Set title and info colors and transparency
Load in as many social icons as you like for the share widget

Important Notes:

You do NOT need a paid Vimeo account to use this player. All you need is the free basic account
You will need Flash CS4 or higher to edit the control bar skin. Everything is in a single MovieClip and is easily editable. The included help file includes additional instructions. If you don’t have Flash CS4 or CS5 you can get a 60 day CS5 trial from Adobe.com
Due to Vimeo API limitations, the player breaks when a video is marked as “private” (not embeddable) is loaded into the player. As soon as Vimeo updates their API to be more agreeable with custom interfaces, “Vimeo Customized” will be updated. But until then, just don’t create any playlists with “private” videos and the player will work fine
