Write an instant messaging bot (im bot) in PERL or PHP, hosted in linux server, which is similar to the service provided by IMified.com.
More protocol are required, including QQ (china), facebook.
You can consider using pidgin as the starting point as it nearly includes all common IM protocol.
Deliverable includes source-code.
The IM bot will accept two input:
1. from IM buddies input and then the IM bot will get data from MySQL database or other party through API and return to those IM buddies.
2. from cron job to trigger IM bot to send messages to particular IM buddies
