As the school’s protection officer (pensacola_joe), I want to be able to find how many cell phones are active on campus (yahoo). Better yet would be able to pinpoint their locations (dot com). Best would be to find their numbers, so I can contact them individually.
Of course this would require some sort of mini cell transmitter/receiver, at some very low power application. I know from college, we had a campus radio station transmitting at 10,000 milliwatts (10 watts). I’m not trying to establish communication, just locate the phones, through gps or triangulation, for safety, protection or as a deterant.
This has far reaching commercial applications, like locating everyone in the mall, at a concert or in a jail.
