In Osculata (to osculate means to kiss) – soft dreamy piano chords flow from one chord into the next. The melody is shaped by the direction of the chords. This is a more sensitive loop which has a lot of space and room to breathe. The top note which features occasionally acts to keep a little suspense throughout the piece.
The piano is made to sound like the microphone is very close to the strings for a more intimate sound. In addition, the piano is placed in a very large space to add warmth to the recording. This a technique many composers use on soundtracks today to create a certain ambiance and mood.
