Removing Software Features

We developed and market a collection of online software tools at www.webteam.com written in PHP. Over the years, we have added feature after feature to these software tools. Some of our customers complain that those software tools have now grown too complicated, too many features that many users do not need. To address this problem, we are going to provide ways to turn off command options in layers; not to delete the commands, but rather to temporarily turn them off. First-time users, for example, will have only essential commands available. As they gain proficiency, users will be able to turn back on more commands.

This is the first set of tasks. We will provide two new programmers at least 20 hours/week of additional programming tasks on an ongoing basis. We are looking for someone to join our programming team permanently.

We require an experienced PHP programmer with a hands-on background with Linux, MySQL, and user interface development. We need a team player, someone who has no trouble working with code written by others and likes to contribute to a project with other PHP programmers. The software would need to follow our written quality standards.

If you would like to be considered, we will need a sample of your PHP code, something that you originated and represents your programming style. Include its source as an attachment with your application message.

If we find your sample code acceptable, we will give you a short online PHP test. If your sample code and test results are acceptable, we will assign an evaluation task to you as regular billable work. If you complete that task in a timely manner and produce quality code, then we will assign the remaining tasks to you.

This is an opening for 2 programmers, but not for a programming company. We prefer dealing directly with the programmers. We have follow-on projects ready after this one.
