We need a simple web-based interface in order to be able to upload Quicktime videos, and to be able to input basic information (using database fields) about that Quicktime video. This can be an HTML or Flash page.
After a user has uploaded Quicktime video and input basic information, we will then need this “input page” to generate a “display page” where Quicktime video and Quicktime video details are displayed on one HTML or Flash page.
Both the input page and the display page will need to be password protected. We will need to manage up to 10 users, where 1 user is the “input user” and all others are “client users”. The input user needs to be able to upload quicktime and enter data, as well as view all display pages. The client user should be able to only see his display page. Display pages for client users should be discrete – in other words, Client 1 should only be able to view Client 1 display page and not Client 2’s display page. Client 2 should only be able to view Client 2’s display page and not Client 1’s display page.
Here are the details:
1. We are already exporting Quicktime videos before upload. We are compressing Quicktime videos using Quicktime’s “Export for the Web” function (H.264, 1.5 MBps maximum data rate. Width=”852″ height=”480”). We need a field that allows input user to select video and upload to our server.
2. For the input page we need the following 5 fields and two yes or no checkboxes.
Fields are:
Title of Video: User Must input
Date and Time Posted: Date and time posted (should be automated)
Data Rate: (Should read from Quicktime file)
Data Size: (Should read from Quicktime file)
Duration: (Should read from Quicktime file)
Audio: (Checkbox Y or N)
Related Documents: (Checkbox) Y or N; If Y, then an additional field that will allow us to select and upload a PDF, which will then need to be downloadable on the display page.
3. For the display page, Title of Video should be bolded in larger font above video.
Video should always be displayed uniformly using Quicktime’s “Export for the Web” specifications (H.264, 1.5 MBps maximum data rate. Width=”852″ height=”480”).
Below video, information from input fields and input page should be displayed in the following order (same as on input page):
Date and Time Posted: Date and time posted
Data Rate: (Should read from Quicktime file)
Data Size: (Should read from Quicktime file)
Duration: (Should read from Quicktime file)
Audio: (Can be a checkbox) Y or N
Related Documents: (Can be a checkbox) Y or N; If Y, then link to download PDF.
