Microsoft releases app to stalk celebrities

Over the weekend Microsoft released an app that lets you stalk celebrities, well no it doesn’t track them in real time however it does provide you with a steady stream of information from all over the web. The app is called SNIPP3T (pronounced “Snippet”) and is in essence “a Celebrity News app that snips everything you want to know about your favorite celebrities from all over the web and puts it in one place.”

Once you download the app on iOS7 or higher, you need to connect it with your Facebook account, if you don’t then the app will not function according to plan and will just deliver random news about random celebrities, if you want to actually subscribe to any star, you must first connect with Facebook. I don’t know about you guys but honestly I am getting tired of all these apps connecting with my Facebook.

According to the iTunes site:

  • Subscribe to your favorite celebrity with one click, and the hottest stories about them will show up in your personalized stream of headlines.
  • Tap on a celebrity to view their detailed profiles and explore a timeline of news stories surrounding them. You can also tap into a news story to get all relevant story content (news articles, photos, videos, and social mentions) in one place.
  • Share your thoughts about the latest news with other fans of your favorite celebrities.

Why they would release this app I honestly have no idea. If you are interested you can download the app from the App Store.
