Mac Tool Makes It Easier To Work With PDFs Images By Shrinking Them To Minimum Size

Using PDF images is a great help in making your apps resolution independent I’ve mentioned a category extending UIImage allowing you to use PDF images.

One problem with saving your images as PDFs is that many programs add a ton of metadata to the PDFs making the files extremely large.

One thing you can do to reduce the file size, and remove all that metadata is simply open the PDFs within the Mac OS X preview app, and export your PDF, but this is a pain if you’re dealing with multiple files.

Here’s a free tool called ShrinkIt from Panic that you can use to quickly shrink your PDF files just like you would with the preview app automatically.  Simply drag them to the tool, and let everything be done automatically.

You can download ShrinkIt over on the homepage here.

A very handy tool if you’re working with PDF image assets.
