Introduction

What is a HDRI ?

HDRI is the abbreviation of “High Dynamic Range Image”, and it is a 360ºx180º panorama. Its function is to provide you a real environment for your 3D work and make it the most realistic as possible.

Why should I get it?

This type of HDRI can be used for any 3D work as you wish. However the environment, and blackplates have been thought for 3D car projects.

Isn’t it too low quality?

The resolution (5000×2500 pixels approx.) allows you to work with a good quality of reflections, and also with a manageable (.hdr) format on your 3D viewport, for its lightness. So, if you don’t have great computer power, you still can do realistic renders in an acceptable time and excellent quality.
Even more, for those users who need Higher Resolutions and are able to handle heavy (.hdr) images, this Pack also includes a 10000×5000 pixels approx. panorama.

What does the pack include?

It contains:

– A 360 ºx 180º Spherical panorama (5000×2500 pixels approximately) in (.jpg), and (.hdr) format.

– A 360 ºx 180º Spherical panorama (10000×5000 pixels approximately) in (.jpg), and (.hdr) format.

– 34 backplates of 14mp (4608×3072 pixels) in (.jpg) format.

IMPORTANT

The “More images” section includes a preview of all the backplates included in this pack, and also a reference of the Hdri’s quality. Check them!

All the images (Backplates and Hdri) don’t have water marks.

The models on the images are shown just to check the reflections. They are not included in the pack.

Photo realistic bullet (Weapons and Armor)

This is a bullet made inside of cinema 4d

As you can see the bullet is very realistic and the material included in the C4D file really sets it off.

It’s not very high poly but still looks great.

The scene is not included, The material included only in the C4D File and main photo has post effect, Please check the other photos included.

HDRi – 1554 Clear Sky Low Sun (Daylight)

Description:

HDRi skydome panorama in .exr and .hdr format for use as a spherical environment in 3d scenes. 1554 refers to the time of day it was taken.

Resolution:

Approx 7000px wide, good enough in some cases to be used as the directly visible sky. When you want more control, or the sky is visibly low res, you can use the supplied 12 megapixel jpg backplates.

Dynamic Range:

All photos used to make the HDRi are taken at the following exposures:

1/8000, 1/2000, 1/500, 1/125, 1/30, 1/8, 1/2

which is equivalent to a dynamic range of 12 EVs (Exposure Values). A Canon 5D mk2 was used and was set to shoot 7 exposures 2 EVs apart. Exposures longer than 1 second give problems with moving clouds.

The .exr files are about 70mb each.

High dynamic range within a HDR image is important if you are looking to get realistic shadows from the sun.

Backplates:

Comes with 33 straight shots of the sky taken at the same time as the HDRi and with the same color temperature so it matches your render. Each jpg is 4368×2912 px and about 2.5mb.

In all HDRs the sun (or brightest part) is oriented south>north for easy control of shadow direction.

The rendered preview above is shown using my most recent HDRi workflow which you can read more about here: http://www.peterguthrie.net/blog/2012/02/hdri-lighting-workflow/ . It is rendered using a gamma of 0.8 for the HDRi.
